Giveaway Privacy Notice

This Giveaway Privacy Notice explains how The Fade Department (“The Fade Department,” “TFD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, retains, protects, and discloses personal information specifically in connection with TFD giveaways and sweepstakes. It supplements our broader Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect for a Giveaway
Depending on the promotion and the information you choose to provide, we may collect your email address, Cash App $Cashtag, optional KICK username, pseudonymous TFDID, internal weekly ticket ID, week number, weekly entry information, entry and verification timestamps, eligibility certifications, acceptance of the Official Rules and this notice, and optional marketing or selected-partner choices.
For security, duplicate prevention, and fraud prevention, the giveaway system may also process technical information such as IP-address and browser/user-agent signals. Where supported by the plugin, certain technical identifiers are stored as one-way hashes rather than as readable plain text.
The submitted weekly secret word is checked against a one-way stored hash. The plugin does not need to retain the submitted secret word as plain text in the entry record.
2. Weekly Entry and Double Opt-In Verification
When a weekly submission contains the required weekly information, the system creates a provisional entry and sends a unique verification link to the email address provided. The weekly entry becomes confirmed only after the verification link is used within the applicable verification period and the remaining eligibility requirements are satisfied.
Giveaway participation does not automatically subscribe you to marketing. If you separately select an optional TFD-marketing or selected-partner-sharing choice, the verification process may also confirm only the optional choice or choices that you affirmatively selected.
3. TFDID and Privacy-Safe Identification
We assign a pseudonymous TFDID that may be used in drawing records and winner-announcement workflows without publicly displaying an entrant’s email address or Cash App $Cashtag. A TFDID is not a password and, by itself, does not prove identity or entitlement to a prize. TFD maintains the private mapping needed to administer the promotion.
4. Cash App Information
A Cash App $Cashtag may be collected for giveaway administration and potential prize delivery. Providing a $Cashtag does not give TFD access to your Cash App account. TFD will not ask for your Cash App password, PIN, debit-card PIN, or online-banking credentials merely to enter or receive a giveaway prize.
5. How We Use Giveaway Information
We may use giveaway information to receive and process entries; validate weekly credentials; verify email addresses; enforce entry limits; assign TFDIDs and ticket IDs; prevent fraud, abuse, and automated submissions; determine eligibility; conduct and document a drawing; contact and securely verify potential winners; deliver prizes; investigate technical or security issues; maintain appropriate administration records; and comply with applicable law.
6. Drawing Privacy
A privacy-safe drawing file may contain only TFDIDs, week numbers, and internal ticket IDs. The same TFDID may appear more than once when an entrant has earned multiple eligible weekly entries. The drawing file does not need to contain names, email addresses, Cash App $Cashtags, or other payment credentials.
7. Winner Verification and Prize Delivery
If a TFDID is selected, TFD may use the private database mapping to contact the verified email address associated with that TFDID and send a one-time winner-verification link. Knowledge or possession of a TFDID alone is not sufficient to claim a prize. TFD may also verify age, residence, eligibility, and the prize-delivery information supplied with the entry.
After verification, TFD may use the winner’s designated $Cashtag or another lawful agreed method to deliver the prize. No payment or fee is required from a winner to receive a legitimate TFD giveaway prize.
8. Cookies
The giveaway may use a signed first-party cookie to remember a TFDID and confirmed weekly progress in a particular browser. This is a convenience feature only. Server-side records, not the cookie, control entry limits and eligibility. Deleting or changing a cookie does not create additional eligible entries.
9. Optional Marketing and Selected-Partner Choices
Marketing and selected-partner sharing are optional and are not required to enter or win. If you separately and affirmatively opt in, TFD may use your verified email address for the specific marketing purpose described at the time of consent. If you separately opt in to selected-partner sharing, TFD may share the verified email address with selected marketing partners for the purpose disclosed with that choice.
You may withdraw these optional permissions through the Privacy & Email Choices page or by contacting us. An unchecked box, silence, or giveaway participation by itself is not treated as permission for these optional uses.
10. How We Share Giveaway Information
We do not sell giveaway personal information for monetary compensation. We may disclose limited information to service providers when reasonably necessary for website hosting, database hosting, email delivery, security and bot protection, fraud prevention, form processing, payment or prize delivery, legal compliance, or enforcement of the Official Rules.
11. Winner Information
TFD may announce a verified winner by TFDID. A public-facing KICK username may be announced when voluntarily associated with the winner and appropriate for the promotion. TFD will not publicly disclose an email address, Cash App $Cashtag, residential address, password, PIN, or other non-public payment credential merely because a person won.
12. Retention
Giveaway-administration information concerning entrants who do not win will generally be deleted or de-identified within 90 days after all prizes have been successfully awarded, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, a dispute, recordkeeping, or legal compliance. Records documenting winning entries, winner verification, drawing integrity, and prize delivery may be retained for up to three years, or longer when required by applicable law.
If you separately opt in to TFD marketing or selected-partner sharing, TFD may retain the verified email address, consent record, and suppression or withdrawal record beyond the giveaway retention period as reasonably necessary to honor those preferences and applicable legal requirements.
13. Security
TFD uses reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect giveaway information. The giveaway system is designed to encrypt email addresses and Cash App $Cashtags at rest when supported by the server environment and to use one-way hashes for duplicate, security, and secret-word checks. No internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
14. Privacy and Email Choices
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information. We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request, and some requests may be subject to legal exceptions.
You may use the Privacy & Email Choices page for TFD marketing and selected-partner choices. If information necessary to administer or verify an active giveaway entry is deleted before the drawing or prize process is complete, TFD may no longer be able to maintain that entry or award the prize.
15. Persons Under 18
The applicable Official Rules establish the minimum age for the promotion. Entries submitted by a person who does not meet the eligibility requirements may be disqualified, and associated personal information may be deleted subject to legitimate security, fraud-prevention, dispute, or legal-retention needs.
16. Third-Party Platforms
KICK, Cash App, payment providers, email providers, hosting providers, security services, and other independent third parties maintain their own privacy practices for information they collect directly. This notice governs personal information collected and controlled by TFD for administration of the giveaway.
17. Relationship to Other TFD Policies
The promotion is also subject to the applicable Giveaway Official Rules. TFD’s broader website privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy.
